How adorable are these printable props from etsy? Perfect idea for a holiday card photo shoot or photo booth props at a winter wedding? Love the idea for the holidays and may have to keep it in my back pocket for when Jackson gets old enough to not eat the reindeer nose!

busy kitchen
It turns out that Jackson has some mild allergic reactions to cow's milk and goat's milk, so we had to find some alternatives. We turned to rice milk. I decided to try to make my own at home and found a good recipe here. The result is somewhat thicker than the store-bought brand, but I dilute it with some water and breast milk and Jackson seems to go for it so far. Since home-made rice milk lacks some of the essential vitamins that he needs, like calcium, I breaded and baked up some salmon cakes for him that he really seems to dig (thanks to my mom for the delicious leftover salmon!..). Mini meatballs and pasta with broccoli have also been on the menu. Now, we just have to make sure that more of it ends up in his mouth rather than the floor!;)
Oh, but our kitchen has been very busy these days - I love it!
...hope you have a happy weekend!

more moccasins
More on the baby booties front...The solution to keeping these or these on Jackson's feet for the cold months ahead? Velcro! Love that.
And, just because we've been talking booties and feet! Here is just one of Jackson's favorite songs...it's so catchy and guaranteed to get stuck in your head all day! (Sorry!)

nordic booties
These little babies would be so adorable once it starts to get cold. I will just have to figure out how to keep them on Jackson's feet. We'll see how that goes. He likes to set his feeties free...and, well...who doesn't?

jake and maya
Woah. Check out this chic line of clothing here and here. I'd love that little number up top for Jackson for the fall one day. The ruffles, the buttons, the detail are all so adorable!

our long weekend
We had such a great time in Philly over Labor Day weekend! I have to say that in the years that my sister has lived there, I didn't spend much time at all trying to get to know the city or see what it had to offer. This time was different. We took our time, strolled around the tree-lined streets, peeked inside some gorgeous townhouses and saw these colorful doorways by Rittenhouse Square.
We ate cheesesteaks, took Jackson to the Please Touch Museum, walked along the Schuylkill River, dipped our feet in the fountain at Logan Square, had a blast at the biggest playground I've ever seen, and went to some great gastropubs and bakeries (and didn't have to wait a second for a table!).
Philly is such a lovely city with plenty of things to do and see - especially for Jackson! Can't wait to visit you again, Ding!

red shoes
I know I am fighting it; but fall is fast approaching, even with this record heat! I think these red london boots are so sassy! They would look adorable on my little boy's chubby feet!

little state teethers
Look at these adorable little state teethers from etsy! I just got the little California teether for Jackson since his daddy hails from northern California. Jackson has six teeth now (two below and four up top) and by the looks of all of the drool recently, we believe him to be working on something in there as we speak!
Hopefully, he'll find some relief from the Golden State!
ps. The company, the little sapling toys, uses only organic wood and plants one tree for every toy they sell.

a little ESP please
I subscribe to lmnop and read about the debut collection from a husband and wife duo here in nyc - check it out these adorable kids! Aren't they cool? I would love it if ESP made their unisex line for bigger people too! Jackson's wee little wardrobe consists of many pieces of second-hand unisex clothing (sometimes, much to the chagrin of his daddy)! Maybe it's time to get some updates!
ps. happy sweet birthday to my little sister, Ding!
